Never a True Christian
Religious Rights

Back in 2021, Lisa Domski worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Blue Cross Blue Shield       That was the year that BCBS decided that all employees had to take the Covid vaccine.

She refused to be vaccinated.   She's a Catholic, and she said that's the reason ("religious grounds").

      BCBS fired her.

      She sued her former employer.

In November 2024, a jury awarded Ms. Domski $12.6 million based on her claim of "religious discrimination."   $10 million of that was punitive damages.

Her lawyer praised the verdict as "a repudiation of religious discrimination."

You can read all the details here.

The assertion that Catholic doctrine prohibits vaccinations is fucking bullshit, but that's beside the point.

Freedom of religion is an important right in America.   It's part of what makes America America.

But remember that all religions are made up. 100% made up.

      They're all fake.

All religions were invented by men.

If a religion has (as one of its teachings) a statement that the sun rises in the east, we can test that.   That is a claim that is falsifiable.

But 99% of all religious claims cannot be verified or falsified.   I'm talking about the claims that some almighty deity has made rules about things like blood transfusions, sexual activities, and what you're allowed to eat.

The government isn't allowed to interfere with your freedom of religion, but don't we have to draw some lines somewhere?

Tomorrow I will invent a religion that has ten commandments. One of the commandments will be "Thou shalt not pay income tax."

Another commandment will be that I have to fuck a 9th-grade girl in order to get to heaven.

What do you think the Supreme Court will say about my "religious rights?"
