As you might imagine, I hate the "evangelical" Christmongering grifters as much as real Christians do.
I'm taking about the religious fraudsters who have TV programs where they preach to the camera and promise "blessings" in exchange for money.
This has been going on ever since television was invented, and it continues to this day.
I was watching television this morning (March 8, 2025), scanning through all 368 channels, and there on my TV was a man sitting at a desk, talking to the camera.
It was Mike Murdock. If he's alive in March 2025, he's 79 years old.

He talked in rapid-fire huckster fashion, like a salesman who's afraid that you're about to walk away without buying the 1989 Toyota with 132,000 miles on the odometer.
This is what he said (almost verbatim) as he stared fixedly into the TV camera:

"I decree financial favor with somebody. I commend you to a covenant with you for uncommon family restoration that your family will rise up and repair and rebuild, and your daughter will be set free. Yes, there's a person watching me right now going through a great legal battle.

"I don't care if it comes through a judge or a lawyer, or the person attacking you drops the case or the person that — whatever it is, I ask God to use this $58 seed in the next 12 months each month to turn that legal thing around in your favor. So be it. In the name of the Lord. "As we go to a song just to minister to you — we have a special song coming up right now — quickly get up off the sofa, get off the recliner, go to the phone and say, 'Tell Mike Murdoch I'm one of the 300,' and by the way, when you call, mention to our prayer counselor — now if you try to call and you can't get through for any reason — persistence is also a seed — and if you'll be tenacious, if you just wait about one minute, one or two minutes, and call us right back, if you go to the phone and you can't get through, if you'll just be persistent — turn around and call us right back, but when you call, mention your gift copy and just say, 'Mike Murdock said that he was gonna send me a personal gift copy of his book The Three Most Important Things in Your Life.' "How do you know your gift? How do you know your skill? How do you know what you're called to do? 'Cause your assignment is the only place financial provision is guaranteed your life. You must be where you've been assigned. Fish require water, birds require air, and God created you for a specific place where your gift will emerge, your skills will come alive. "Of course, he's ecstatic 'cause he got his job two weeks after being off six months, and they said, 'It'll be somewhere between $55,000 and $62,000.'
