The Bible tells us that God is merciful and gracious (Exodus 34:6-7) and that he's righteous and merciful (Psalm 116:5).
The Bible also tells us that God keeps his promises (Numbers 23:19).

You can get a book on Amazon that lists 800 promises that God has made.
May I suggest that you combine Method #1 and Method #2 (i.e., study the Bible, and then "watch nature") to see if God actually does what he promised?
