In 1977, a 22-year-old man living in Hawaii tried to kill himself.

      He attached a hose to the exhaust pipe of his car, got in, closed all the windows, and started the engine.

      In what could be deemed a miracle from God, the hose melted, and the young man survived.

      Three years later, he walked up behind John Lennon in New York City and shot him five times, killing him.
